#1. Learn and Memorize Vocabulary

Ah, Vocabulary, everyone's favorite... Fortunately, vocabulary is a HUGE element in AP Language curriculum. Whether the vocab pertains to rhetorical strategies and devices or DIDLS (Diction/Tone, Imagery, Details, Figurative Language, and Syntax), these terms are present in everything we do. I understand you may not have much knowledge on either of these subjects, but when the time comes, it is imperative that you memorize the assigned terms. These vocab words assist you when you are annotating and searching for a deeper meaning in a passage, or the overall argument. They are also beneficial for you to include in your writing. Additionally, the vocabulary words we are required to learn in AP Lang help you a lot for when you are taking AP Multiple Choice quizzes.

Here are some things you should do when memorizing AP Language Vocabulary.

1. Always begin studying at least a week in advance and in increments that way you avoid cramming.
2. Make flashcards! Flashcards are one of the bests tools to use when learning and memorizing new vocab.
3. Finally, always fill out the AP Language Vocabulary study (image 1).
-This is an effective way to memorize the term and apply it to a real life situations.
